How will these fasteners hold up over time?

-STREX Fasteners have been engineered using UV stabilized EPDM and Nylon for superior UV tolerance. The materials used are also designed specifically to withstand saltwater and the elements, without suffering the rust and deterioration of elastic cording. What about slack? Won't the length of the fastener make the fit too loose?

-The STREX conversion system is ideally suited for boat covers that utilize tension poles. Simply erect the pole to the desired tension. For more information, please see our Compatibility Checklist. (OEM fasteners are built into the original canvas design and can be installed on a vast range of vessels and applications.) 

Do I need to hire a professional to install the DIY kit?

-No expert install or specialty tools are required to convert metal snaps to our STREX system.
